Importers & product brands

You have a China supply chain and nobody neutral is looking at it.

You are past the beginner problems. Your issues are different: a supplier who has been fine for four years and has just started slipping, a second source you cannot evaluate from ten thousand kilometres away, an agent whose recommendations you have started to distrust, and a landed cost that will not sit still.

This page is for you if…

  • You import from China at meaningful volume and have no entity or staff there.
  • You rely on an agent, a trading company, or a relationship that predates anyone currently in your business.
  • You are re-sourcing, dual-sourcing, or considering a second country of assembly.
  • You have been asked questions about your supply chain that you cannot currently answer.
  • You need someone who can be at a factory this week without it becoming a project.

If two or more of those are true, the section below is written about your situation specifically. If none are, try the other three.

What actually goes wrong

The problems, and what we do about each

“Our supplier has been fine for years. I have no idea if they still are.”

Re-verification: registry status, ownership changes, litigation and enforcement records, abnormal-operation listings, and a site visit. Companies change hands quietly.

Supplier Due Diligence & Verification · from US$180

“I need a second source and cannot evaluate one from here.”

A shortlist built from registry data and direct calls in Mandarin, narrowed by reference checks, then walked on camera or in person.

Partner, Distributor & Agent Search · from US$2,400

“My agent recommends a supplier. Is that a conflict of interest?”

Probably. Most agents are paid by the seller. We are paid only by you, take no commission, and disclose any referral fee in writing.

Supplier Due Diligence & Verification · from US$180

“We are moving assembly out of China but all our inputs are still Chinese.”

We verify what the Chinese sub-tier actually does, on the record, so a genuine transformation can be evidenced by the professionals who make that determination.

Compliance-Grade Supplier File · from US$690

“The supplier says he cannot ship — something about a licence.”

A desk review against the published control lists plus a structured written conversation with the supplier about licence status and realistic timing.

Export-Licence Exposure Check · from US$290
Where to start

A sensible order to do this in

You can take any one of these and stop. But this is the sequence that wastes the least money.

  1. 01

    Verify what you already have

Start with the suppliers you depend on most, not the new ones. That is where the unexamined risk sits.

Supplier Due Diligence & Verification · from US$180
  2. 02

    Put someone on the floor

On-site verification and interpreting, from two hours away rather than two flights away.

    Product Sourcing & Interpreting · from US$150/day
  3. 03

    Build the second source

Independent, fee-only, with the shortlist built from the registry rather than from who advertises.

Partner, Distributor & Agent Search · from US$2,400
  4. 04

    Watch it

Supply-Chain Watch from US$300/mo re-verifies your panel quarterly and flags registry changes before they become surprises.

Answers written for your situation

No email required, sources named, dates on everything. If these solve your problem you do not need to hire us, and we would rather you knew that.

Questions we get from this group

We already use an inspection company. Why would we need this?

Inspection checks the goods; verification checks the company. A pre-shipment inspection confirms a batch met a spec — it does not establish that the entity on your contract has any relationship with the plant that made it.

Can you replace our sourcing agent?

We can do the finding and vetting, and we interpret and support negotiation. We do not take title to goods, advance payment or handle your money — you contract and pay the supplier directly.

How fast can you get to a factory?

Within the Zhejiang belt, usually days. Yiwu and Ningbo are roughly two and a half hours by road; the electrical, auto-parts, valve, footwear and eyewear clusters are closer than that.
